The Research Assistant will be working directly with a graduate student and postdoctoral driven research projects. Will be responsible for setting up routine optics experiments, recording data and analyzing results, and maintaining and performing experiments with mice and zebrafish.
Bachelor's degree in science required; educational emphasis in physics or engineering. Previous hands-on experience with optics strongly preferred. Familiarity with optomechanical components, simple alignment procedures and general knowledge of different types of light sources including lasers preferred. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, self-motivation, enthusiasm for research, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of Matlab, Python and/or LabView necessary. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
