The new Institute for Global Infectious Disease Research at Rockefeller University seeks to empower a revolution in biomedicine and accelerate the pace at which the world conquers infectious diseases. Reporting to the Institute Director, the Administrative Director is responsible for implementing, organizing, and managing the new Institute's operations and programs. Working to develop and implement consistent cost accounting policies, procedures, and operational reporting/metrics, the administrative director oversees and reports on the Institute's results to the Institute directors and funders. They coordinate and lead annual budget reviews, scientific reviews, and periodic forecast updates with operational and senior management. The incumbent ensures that supported research and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives. Additionally, they ensure the accomplishments of the Institute are disseminated to the public via multiple platforms/mechanisms. Additional projects and responsibilities are assigned.
Bachelor's degree is required. A Ph.D. in Biological Science is preferred. 5 or more years of operational experience in non-profit/government/industry program management and five or more years of project leadership experience. The administrative director must demonstrate leadership and management skills. Outstanding writing and speaking skills. Must have skills in grant administration and the ability to multi-task and work with diverse personalities and styles. Demonstrates taking the initiative and is responsive to feedback, creative problem-solving skills, enthusiastic, dynamic, and flexible. The administrative director is organized and collaborative.
