The CBC and CCMP employ a staff of approximately 300 including 13 veterinarians (9 ACLAM and 2 additional ACVP board-certified pathologists) responsible for the daily care and use of approximately 250,000 animals from a variety of species including mice, rats, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, amphibia, livestock, fish, and non-human primates. Specialized facilities include a fully-equipped diagnostic laboratory and genetically engineered mouse phenotyping core, rodent imaging center as well as transmission and scanning electron and confocal microscopy facilities.
The Comparative Pathologist will join two other veterinary pathologists as part of The Laboratory of Comparative Pathology Tri-Institutional anatomic pathology program serving The Rockefeller University, Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. Responsibilities include providing diagnostic and research pathology support as well as phenotypic characterizations of genetically engineered mice for these 3 institutions. Will be actively involved in the training of laboratory animal and veterinary pathology postdoctoral fellows in conjunction with the Animal Medical Center.
D.V.M./V.M.D. from an AVMA-accredited or equivalent institution required; certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists preferred. Highly qualified board-eligible candidates will be considered.
