Rockefeller University Cage Wash Attendant in New York, New York
The Comparative Bioscience Center provides a comprehensive program of animal care in support of the University's in vivo research. The goal of our staff is to provide investigators with the highest level of research support at the lowest cost while ensuring the welfare of the animals used in the research. The center is fully accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC).
The Cage Wash Attendant will be primarily responsible for cage sanitation, physical plant maintenance and the safe operation of sanitation equipment. Will also be responsible for the movement of equipment throughout the facility and maintaining clean conditions within the cage wash area. Will maintain clean hallways by removing dirty equipment to the cage-wash area for processing and will maintain ample clean autoclave supplies.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to communicate in English. Previous cleaning or porter work a plus.
Must be able to lift supplies that weigh up to 50 pounds and push/pull cars on weight-bearing wheels weighing approximately 500 pounds. Must be able to tolerate a significant amount of standing, bending, stretching, and walking. Must not be allergic to animals, latex, waste products or bedding. Requirements are subject to change as a result of facility needs.
