Department Description

The Office of Technology Transfer at The Rockefeller University manages and oversees all aspects of commercially relevant intellectual property generated by the University's world class scientific research laboratories. OTT supports the research enterprise at the University through a variety of activities, including scouting for technologies, patenting inventions, finding commercial partners and negotiating transactions with fair and equitable terms, and monitoring post-deal compliance. The office is expanding and looking for hands-on, enthusiastic talent to continue to build on a best-in-class approach to academic technology management and commercialization.

Detailed Description

The Contracts Administrator will draft, review, revise and edit agreements such as confidentiality agreements and material transfer agreements, with expansion to other agreements over time. Will analyze and communicate potential risks that contract changes may pose to the organization, help implement and utilize management software, and ensure that all database information is correct. The Contracts Administrator will work with colleagues to generate and track status reports as the office transitions to a paperless work environment, and report correct information to stakeholders in a timely manner and in a way that is easily digested.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree and 2-3 years of relevant work experience preferred. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, impeccable attention to detail, and superior interpersonal skills that will translate to easily working with people up and down any organization's hierarchy. Must be skilled in professional negotiation and comfortable with a growing office that requires a nimbleness to adapt to new and unknown situations. The ideal candidate will seamlessly fit into established processes, but also demonstrate creativity and willingness to find new ways to help create the leading edge for the business.
