Our Laboratory studies germinal centers, which are structures within lymphoid organs where antibodies mutate and improve their targeting capabilities in a process called affinity maturation. This allows the immune system to produce antibodies that are precisely targeted at invaders, resulting in faster and more robust responses upon subsequent exposures.
The Research Assistant will work as part of an integrated research team amongst two laboratories. Responsibilities include overseeing an extensive mouse colony, including performing genotyping, ear punching, submandibular bleeding, PCR, and flow cytometry.
Bachelor's degree in science required. Must have knowledge of general laboratory equipment and materials and work independently within a team environment. Must possess excellent organizational, record-keeping, and interpersonal skills.
