Job Title Research Assistant
Laboratory / Department Neurobiology and Genetics
The basic approach of our laboratory is to use mouse models of neurological disease to elucidate the molecular mechanisms by which neuronal function is disrupted in Alzheimer?s disease, Parkinson's disease, stroke and other neuropathological conditions.
The Research Assistant will assist with experiments including mouse behavioral tests, perfusion, surgeries, mouse brain sectioning, and immunohistochemistry. Will be responsible for mouse colony maintenance, including genotyping, breeding, and weaning.
Bachelor's degree in science required; educational emphasis in neuroscience, biochemistry, or molecular biology preferred. Previous experience in bench work, mouse handling, and immunohistochemistry (perfusion, sectioning, and histology) required.
