Job Title Research Assistant
Laboratory / Department Neurophysiology and Behavior
Working closely with the Principal Investigator and a small group of researchers in the lab, the Research Assistant will actively participate in providing scientific input to projects and assist in molecular biology, functional, and behavioral assays. Will work within the lab's multidisciplinary approach to define the neural circuits underlying complex behaviors in the fruit fly Drosophila, with the goal of revealing fundamental principles in how sensory information is encoded within neural processing pathways.
Bachelor's degree in science required; educational emphasis in chemistry, biochemistry, bioengineering, neuroscience or engineering preferred. Previous laboratory experience required. Must be detail-oriented, focused, highly motivated, and able to work as part of a team atmosphere for general lab duties, as well as a mentored atmosphere for research projects.
