The Rockefeller University Hospital is funded by the National Institutes of Health and has 20 patient beds for clinical research. The Hospital provides researchers with an opportunity to conduct clinical studies, and offers both normal volunteers and people with diseases under study the opportunity to stay in the hospital and help to contribute to important advances in science. The Hospital has an inpatient unit as well as an outpatient center where prospective patients are screened and many outpatient studies are conducted. The Hospital is staffed 24 hours a day with professional nurses and has nutritional research, social work, art and recreation departments, and a radiology suite as well as its own research pharmacy. The Statistical Programmer will assist with the directed statistical analysis of several ongoing pre-clinical and clinical investigations. Will also help collect information from a variety of existing data resources, design databases, analyze data, interpret patterns and trends, assess data quality, and assist with research investigations that support the objectives, goals and mission of The Rockefeller University Hospital. Data will often include pre-clinical, biological, clinical research data, genomic, and Hospital/ CCTS operational data.
Master's degree in biostatistics or data science required. A minimum of 1 year of statistical analysis or data management experience necessary. Must possess the ability to provide data in platforms for presentations (i.e. graphs, charts, etc.), collaborate effectively and work as part of a team, and present data analysis in a user-friendly language. Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (e.g. SAS, R, SPSS, etc), experience with MS Office, particularly PowerPoint, and extensive experience and knowledge in databases and programs to hold and manipulate data (e.g. Oracle, Excel, REDCap), required. Must be highly self-motivated, self-directed, attentive to detail, and experienced working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) data and genomic analysis a plus.
